Chrystal O’Boyle

Chrystal O’Boyle earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from the University of Arkansas, where she discovered her love for ceramics.

Continuing her studies, Chrystal completed a post-baccalaureate program in ceramics at the University of Oklahoma in 2022. In 2022, she was selected as the year-long Emerging Artist in Residence at Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft.

Chrystal earned her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2025. She recently completed a year-long residency at the Community Creative Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, which concluded with her solo exhibition, Drift. She now serves as the Visual Arts Studio Technician at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith.

Her work focuses on figurative ceramics that reflect themes of introspection and the human experience. Her functional work celebrates women’s bodies by honoring the realities of the body and challenging the beauty standards she grew up seeing and experiencing. Elements of body adornment explore self-expression and the ways we choose to present and celebrate our bodies. When she is not working on her latest sculpture, she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
